Navigation Monitoring

  • Track Check: Confirming aircraft position relative to planned track every 15-30 mins.
  • ETA Updates: Revising Estimated Time of Arrival at next waypoints based on actual Ground Speed.
  • Gross Error Check: Verifying next waypoint distance and track before passing current waypoint.

Fuel Monitoring

  • Fuel Checks: Comparing Actual Fuel on Board vs Planned Fuel at each waypoint.
  • Discrepancy:
    • If burning more than planned: Determine cause (wind, higher level, engine issue).
    • Project future consumption to ensure destination reserves are intact.
  • Top of Climb Check: Critical check to verify climb performance and initial cruise fuel flow.

System Monitoring

  • Engine Instruments: Oil pressure/temp, EGT, N1/N2 within limits.
  • Pressurization: Cabin altitude climbing/descending correctly.
  • Electrical/Hydraulic: Loads and pressures normal.
