## Non-load-bearing surfaces
Areas such as taxiway shoulders, which cannot support the weight of the aircraft but are not readily distinguishable from the load-bearing pavement, shall be marked.

*   **Taxi side stripe marking:**
    * Pair of solid lines, 15 cm wide each, spaced 15 cm apart.
    * Same color as the taxiway centerline markings (usually yellow).
    * Indicate the edge of the load-bearing pavement.

## Pre-threshold area
When the surface before the threshold is paved (more than 60 m) but not suitable for normal use (e.g., blast pad or stopway not usable for taxiing):

*   **Chevron marking:**
    * Arrow-shaped markings (v) pointing towards the runway.
    *   Color: **Yellow**.
    * Indicates that the area **must not** be used for landing, takeoff, or taxiing.
